Description:

Develops, integrates and documents structural requirements to establish the system design. Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product''s environment. Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance. Develops test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied. Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements. Works under general direction.

Program is seeking an Experienced Structural Analysis Engineer (Level 3) to join the Mechanical Structural Engineering team. This position will support the structural integrity of the aircraft per V-22 requirements for the entire aircraft life cycle. Responsibilities include assignments to support those aircraft in production, in the fleet, or those undergoing structural modification. Ideal candidate would be self-starter, with good communication skills, and who is able to balance the needs of the Customer, both internal and external, with the time required to perform structural analysis that clearly documents that structural requirements have been met. The candidate will also be expected to lead lower level engineers with their tasks and review their work. This position is located in Ridley Park, PA.

Primary Responsibilities:
Perform analysis such as durability and damage tolerance (DaDT) analyses, static stress analysis, and material and structural trade studies.
Plan and execute tasks within constraints imposed by internal and external customer schedules
Develop, integrate, and document analysis results, and be able to review and approve results
Verify structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product life-cycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance
Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
Provide engineering analysis and consultation.
Coordinate with various levels of management plus internal, such as Operations, and external customers.
Works under specific direction of a lead engineer.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee..

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
Experience working with structural analysis of composite and metal structure.
Experience working with structural sizing, and finite element models/simulations using NASTRAN/PATRAN, ABAQUS, Hypermesh, Optistruct, etc.
Experience in structural testing, testing standards (ASTM), test planning, and advanced data analysis methods.
Experience with structural repairs in the field and in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Degree in mechanical, civil, aerospace, or architectural engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Experience effectively communicating with cross functional teams.
Experience with design and analysis of high modulus composites is desired.
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

5+ years in the following:
ENG Degree required
CATIA V5
MRB experience
Engineering non-conformances
Must be a local candidate that can work onsite
Must be able to work 1st shift or 2nd shift as requested
Must bring valid identification (US Passport or US Certified Birth Certificate) on start date to badge.
Must be able to work 1st shift (approx. 7a-3:30p) or 2nd shift (approx. 2:30p-10p) as requested
