Overview:
The Sub-Components Enterprise Vertical engineering team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Design Engineers with a strong background in product design & development. Sub-Components is a unique engineering and supply chain capability within the enterprise mandate to bring Intellectual Property (IP) ownership back inside the company as build-to-print (BTP) designs that can be cost effectively produced and delivered to production and aftermarket customers. This strategic investment increases proprietary content on commercial & defense platforms and generates sustaining services revenue for the company. With high expectations for growth and long-term development commitments to BGS, BCA and BDS, Sub-Components is a dynamic growth opportunity for motivated engineers looking to contribute at scale and materially enhance design expertise.This program is looking for proactive design engineers that can collaborate in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment and execute product development projects, in coordination with BCA, BDS, BGS and BR&T engineering teams as well as working cross-functionally with supplier management and manufacturing suppliers. In addition to strong design/manufacturing experience, certification knowledge, and internal process integration experience are preferred.

Responsibilities:
Provide design engineering to develop component parts for company products.
Integrate the component development effort across the entire value stream, from development through release, testing, certification, and production build.
Performs design activities and is proactive in communication of project risks or opportunities up to the program level.
Performs technical quality review of the development and design of components including verifying and validating requirements
Performs design engineering elements of development, test and certification activities
Performs statement of work (SOW) to satisfy new design requirements, identifies and manages changes, and assesses the impact of incorporating those changes into the statement of work.

Skills Required:
Latch and Payload mechanism design
Certification and drawing release experience
GD&T and DFM experience (Geometric dimensioning and Tolerance and Design For Manufacturing
CATIA

Preference is candidates local to Seattle, WA. Local candidates will work a hybrid schedule. However, open to virtual candidates.

6am start PST Somedays for meetings with design sites or 7am PST/End Time: 2:30-4 pm

Additional Skills:
Skills: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
