Leads Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in analyzing product development, complex producibility studies and production/tooling philosophies. Refines, validates, coordinates and implements conceptual designs and manages the program architecture for build. Develops manufacturing plans and oversees plan optimization. Conducts complex producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements. Resolves complex technical problems. Serves as a project manager to ensure that contract requirements, specifications, design criteria and schedule performance are integrated and maintained. Leads advanced design solutions and supports research of new product or business opportunities. Deploys company Lean Enterprise analysis methods. Documents and communicates producibility best practices. Provides guidance to others through structured mentoring. Remote, onsite or a combination of both? Combo. 1 contractor will be virtual, 1 onsite: negotiable day's onsite.

Defense & Space (DS) is seeking a motivated & experienced Senior Electrical Manufacturing Engineer Contractor to join the Pride of the Nation - the VC-25B program located in Puget Sound supporting modification in San Antonio, Tx.
Selected candidate will be responsible for leading the electrical build plan architecture, its implementation into the modification site at San Antonio, and the configuration management of change as it affects the build plan.
Position Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will develop solutions to a wide variety of complex electrical manufacturing problems using established precedents and policies. A Lean methodology mindset is required to resolve shop floor constraints, research manufacturing plans and coordinate with manufacturing managers to ensure successful project completions.
Experience / Familiarity with all aspects of Wire Harness Installation, Pre-Installation and Post-Installation Wire Harness Assembly Testing (Fully terminated Wire Harnesses, and Termination performed on aircraft), and the ability to develop wiring tooling requirements based on manufacturing and engineering requirements. Experience / familiarity with different aspects of Wire Harness testing desired.
Review Wire Harness Assembly (WHA) engineering design, ensuring producibility of designs and configuration management control (i.e. engineering changes). Knowledge, application, experience/use of the WIRS system is highly desired (familiarity of resident reports a plus).
Experience with all aspects of Wire Harness Assembly change management / processing / implementation
Perform producibility reviews of Electrical Production Illustration drawings (Wiring Installation Drawings), and Electrical Provisions (support bracketry details/Assemblies/Installations), ensuring design for manufacturability standards are supported and represented.
Support integration activities associated with suppliers, process development and/or enhancements, procurement kitting, and data/technology analysis to meet manufacturing and deliverable requirements.
Work at the appropriate level in the organization to implement strategies and plans.
Position may require Travel and/or DTA (Domestic Temporary Assignment) to San Antonio.
Willing to work overtime, weekends or holidays, as needed.
Additional Skills:
Skills:
Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.Due to Company education requirements please make sure all submitted candidates have a Bachelor of Science degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. If they do not meet this requirement, please withdraw them from consideration ASAP
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
5+ years experience with all aspects of Wire Harness installation, Pre-Installation and Post-Installation Wire Harness Assembly Testing (Fully terminated Wire Harnesses, and Termination performed on aircraft)
5+ years experience developing wiring tooling requirements based on manufacturing and engineering requirements. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
Experience / familiarity with different aspects of Wire Harness testing desired.
WIRS system experience / mastery
Experience with MESCI planning system; Creating new / Revising (fabrication and Installation Modules
Experience defining Aircraft configurations Experience with Wiring Production Illustration drawings - Analyzing and performing producibility.
Experience with Wiring component standards/sourcing/supply base Wire Harness / System Troubleshooting experience Knowledge and use of the Integration Visibility Tool (IVT) Knowledge / Use of wiring testing systems Knowledge / Applied application of Jira Software, a plus. Microsoft Office tools a must; focus being on advanced excel data analytical skills.
