Design Engineer

Description:
We have an outstanding Contract position for a Design Engineer to join a leading Company located in the Baltimore, MD surrounding area.

Responsibilities:
Provide design engineering support for Nacelle components
Execute the design activities of Nacelle components (Thrust Reverser, Inlet, Fan Cowl, or Exhaust) using sound engineering principles and adhering to our design standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements
Review concept designs to ensure hardware systems and components can meet specific requirements
Develop and document design, function, qualification, and performance criteria
Prepare content and participate in technical reviews and adhere to design practices and standards
Create engineering change packages, including part definition and change substantiation
All concept development models and layouts are to be managed in the STE DWB tool
All drawing and modeling work will be done in CATIA V5
Effectively communicate with the engineering program manager to:
Prepare for technical and program reviews within the organization, with suppliers and customers
Develop and execute plans to achieve technical and program requirements
Develop action plans in response to problems
Specific deliverables include:
Design of hardware in Catia V5 and STE DWB tool
Internal, supplier, and customer design reviews
Engineering release and change management in STE DWB tool
Qualification and certification reports
Project plans and status updates
Engineering support for manufacturing and supply chain
All concept development models and layouts are to be managed in the STE DWB tool
The technical presentations are to be uploaded to task-specific STE Box folders
All drawing and modeling work to be done in CATIA V5

Basic Hiring Criteria:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant scientific field
Minimum five (5) years or more experience in Design Engineering, preferably in the aerospace industry

Desired Qualifications:
Experience with aviation EBU hardware is preferred
