Electrical Power Design Engineer

Description:
The Electrical Power Design Engineer will have significant experience as a Power Design role on design teams and design architectures for low and high-power supplies, motor drives, and power management systems.
• Moog Aircraft Power Design Engineers require not only state of the art electronics design know-how but also experience designing for requirements such as: high shock and vibration, thermal management with extreme external temperature variation, high voltage, altitude variation, failure mode mitigation and arc threat management, minimized weight, robust packaging, long life and a low recurring cost.
• Responsible for not only the technical solution but also meeting recurring and non-recurring cost targets.
• This role will be interacting not only with the design engineering team, but other disciplines such as program management, system engineering, actuation engineering, safety and reliability, product engineering and others. Leadership skills are a must.
Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field is preferred
• 8+ years of relevant experience in a design environment is required
• Experience designing custom low and high-power supplies and filters.
• Experience designing custom power drive electronics (exceeding 10kW).
• Experience designing custom magnetics.
• Familiarity / Experience with conducted emissions and susceptibility
• A military/aerospace background and familiarity with the design life cycle including design, qualification and certification of electronics for aircraft applications is desired.
• The position may require a low amount of domestic travel (up to 3 times per year)
