Job Description: We are seeking a Senior Level Systems Engineer to become part of the Flight Efficiency and Sustainability team. The role will focus on RouteSync, a product in the Digital Solutions - Flight Efficiency and Sustainability portfolio. RouteSync is a data distribution framework that automatically synchronizes, monitors and records flight route data between an airline's operation center and the aircraft's flight management computer. RouteSync reduces delay costs, improves safety, optimizes flight plans, and improves flight record management. The Senior Systems Engineer will assist in the development, test and implementation of our Route Sync offering, simplifying pilot interaction with airplane systems, including Electronic Flight Bags and the Flight Management computes, on commercial flights around the world. In this position, you'll contribute directly to comapny's flight efficiency and sustainability objectives in commercial, business and military aviation.
Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
Leads analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
Leads, develops, maintains and identifies improvements the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
Perform system engineering for the RouteSync product, including system requirement documentation, system engineering analysis, and system specification documentation
Maintain and update all system documentation.Ensure updated requirements are incorporated in system engineering documents and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
Decompose system level requirements into functional and performance criteria.Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve system performance.Generate and decompose additional system level requirements if gaps are identified in the process of functional decomposition.
Create and maintain customer training materials necessary to deploy and operate the RouteSync service.
Manage customer RouteSync deployments, including planning customer meetings and test activities. Supplier shall track customer issues and requests, driving them to closure
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
5+ years defining system requirements, system architecture, and design
Familiarity with airplane avionics and network protocols
Experience with Aircraft integration
Strong working-together attitude and communication skills
Strong decision making and problem solving skills. Able to identify issues, problems and opportunities

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Background in air to ground communications, including the ACARS protocol
Familiarity with commercial airline operations
Experience working with airline customers- including IT, Flight Operations, and Pilot personnel
Experience in System test
Knowledge of Operational Suitability
Experience in Technical roadmap development
Knowledge of algorithm development / integration
