Lay out, assemble, pre-fit, and bond various metal, composite, or laminate fabrications, assemblies, parts, skins, or equipment.
Follow engineering and manufacturing specifications to determine parts to be bonded and the required temperature and pressure.
Operate autoclaves, hydraulic presses, and ovens to complete the bonding cycle.
Sand, burr, and smooth areas, and apply sealing resins to cut or exposed edges.
Perform complicated rework or repair as needed.
Monitor and verify quality in accordance with controlled procedures.
Utilize lay-up tools, including both optical and hard tools, in the fabrication of composite and metal assemblies.
Obtain required information from prints, charts, sketches, work orders, documents, verbal, and electronic information.
Use shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments to complete work assignments.
Ensure equipment and tool certification occurs per procedure.
Use and control solvents and cleaning solutions in the preparation of details, tools, and assemblies for bonding and paint.
Perform routine minor machine maintenance as part of daily work duties.
Routinely move products within the immediate manufacturing work area using shop-assigned equipment.
Support the continuous flow of products within the manufacturing process by training and assisting other employees.
Train to become MVP qualified.
