Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for providing leadership and oversight on several Human Resources projects of varying complex nature with a common focus on improving process and organizational efficiency while maintaining or increasing overall effectiveness. Regularly communicates to management regarding status of project deliverables. Identifies and monitors project risks, communication roadblocks and issues to management.

  • Directs the development and integration strategy for human resources business systems by prioritizing system and portfolio needs; identifying system integration gaps within portfolio; overseeing system development to identify points of integration; and approving system business and functional requirements.

  • Implements and annually updates the compensation program; rewrites job descriptions; conducts annual salary surveys and develops salary budget; analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises, as necessary.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, information activities program and cash flow.
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Establishes department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars. Maintains organizational charts and employee directory.
  • Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Acts as Plan Administrator of 401(K) plan and assists Human Resources Generalist with annual 401(K) audits as needed.
  • Conducts annual plan review of benefits and coverage related to employee healthcare plans and employee assistance programs.
  • Conducts annual review of Workers’ Compensation plan and assists Human Resources Generalist with annual audit as needed.
  • Maintains compliance with health & safety guidelines (OSHA)



  • A bachelor's degree and five years of human resource experience, or nine years of experience in the HR field.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.
  • Experience with HR software, Lawson experience preferred.
  • Comfortability in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Tact when dealing with sensitive matters.
  • Discretion when dealing with confidential circumstances.
  • Sound judgment and able to anticipate needs and problems.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and thoughtful.
  • Sense of urgency & ownership.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office applications, in particular)
  • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects.
