Electrical Design Engineer - Harness Installation Engineer

Electrical Design Engineer / Harness Installation Engineer

Description

About the Opportunity:
This position is for an engineer that will perform tasks including Harness Routing, Harness Installation and Electrical Equipment Installation.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Background and demonstrated ability is required in the technical areas listed below.
o Develop electrical harness routing, 2D harness installation drawings & harness flats using CATIA V5
o Generates Engineering Models and Installation Drawings utilizing CATIA Version 5.
o Performs trade studies to identify optimal engineering solution.
o Collaborates with the Integrated Product Team to resolve cross functional issues.
o Reviews work performed by others and ensure work is to the highest standard.
o Implements Industry best engineering practices (design for manufacturing, design for reliability and design for maintainability).
o Have the ability to understand and apply certification requirements.
o Implement design solutions optimized for cost and weight.
o Manages task execution to ensure on-time and on-target completion.
o Searches for problem root cause and develop corrective action plans and solutions.

Qualifications

Who You Are:
BSEE and a minimum of 8 years of applicable industry related work experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of aircraft FAA regulatory requirements as related to harness design and installation
Working knowledge with Teamcenter or equivalent PLM system
Knowledge of aircraft zonal requirements
Familiarity with electrical/avionics equipment installation practices and design
Familiarity with wire harness design smart tools such as IGE-XAO SEE Electrical Expert or Mentor Graphics is desired
