Schedule: Monday–Friday, First Shift (7:00 AM – 1:30 PM)
Pay Rate: $37.08 to $44.42 per hour

PDS Tech Commercial, is seeking a skilled Equipment & Tool Designer with a passion for prototyping and advanced manufacturing. Based in Tukwila, WA, this exciting role centers on supporting Additive Manufacturing (AM) and Prototyping—bringing concept designs to life with precision and creativity.

In this position, you'll be hands-on with SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) post-processing and other AM technologies to finish, refine, and deliver top-tier aerospace components. Your contributions will directly influence prototype development, customer satisfaction, and rapid innovation capabilities.


What You’ll Do

  • Post-process SLS parts, including support removal, sanding, surface smoothing, bead blasting, polishing, and painting

  • Operate and maintain a range of AM equipment, including SLS, SLA, PolyJet, FDM, and DMLS systems

  • Prepare build files and optimize post-processing workflows for consistency and quality

  • Apply coatings, adhesives, and primers to enhance durability and visual appeal

  • Interpret 2D and 3D CAD drawings for tooling and finishing requirements

  • Collaborate with engineers and customers to refine designs for manufacturability and post-processing

  • Document processes and ensure tools and parts meet technical and customer specifications


What You Bring

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with post-processing AM parts, especially SLS components

  • Skilled in using hand tools and precision measuring instruments

  • Familiarity with adhesives, paints, and surface finishing for AM materials

  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and quality control skills

  • Ability to read and interpret CAD files (2D/3D)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience in Additive Manufacturing environments

  • Prototyping and part design experience

  • Experience with spray painting and cosmetic model finishing

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced R&D or lab setting

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a customer-first mindset

Education/Experience:

  • Technical Associate Degree and typically 1 or more years of related work experience

  • Equivalent combinations such as a Bachelor's degree with 3 years of relevant experience are also considered

Pay Details: $37.08 to $44.02 per hour
