Job Type: Full-Time, Consultant (12 Months)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, First Shift (8 AM – 5 PM)
Pay Rate: $34.00 per hour

Be a Key Player in Aerospace Quality Assurance

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Quality Inspection Technician to join the  Additive Design and Manufacturing (ADaM) team in Monroe, NC. This critical role ensures the highest standards of quality, precision, and compliance in additively manufactured aerospace components. You’ll be the primary quality inspector, managing metrology inspections, maintaining equipment, and supporting quality control processes that impact the future of aerospace manufacturing.

What You’ll Do:

  • Conduct Precision Inspections – Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections for additively manufactured components using advanced metrology tools like 3D scanners and CMM.
  • Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) – Ensure new product validation through detailed inspections and reporting.
  • Maintain Metrology Equipment – Operate, troubleshoot, and coordinate maintenance and calibration for all inspection tools.
  • Enforce Quality Standards – Identify and document non-conformance issues, quarantine defective products, and assist with root cause analysis.
  • Support Cross-Functional Teams – Collaborate with engineering, materials science, and production teams to execute tests and maintain compliance.
  • Data Management & Documentation – Utilize ERP (SAP) and MES (Solumina) systems to track production and quality metrics.
  • Assist in Training & Process Improvement – Share expertise with junior technicians and contribute to process enhancements.

What We’re Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a related field OR 4+ years of experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or quality inspection (6+ years without a degree).
  • Experience using 3D scanners, CMMs, and precision metrology equipment.
  • Proficiency in inspection software, data collection systems, and MS Office applications.
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to coordinate calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of measurement equipment.
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.    

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years working with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality standards.
  • Knowledge of Measurement System Analysis (Gauge R&R, SPC, root cause analysis).
  • Experience with PolyWorks software or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with metallurgical lab testing and analysis equipment.

Pay Details: $34.00 per hour
