Summary:
Independently perform structural assembly operations using tools, schematics, and specifications to ensure work meets quality and customer standards.
Provide guidance and training to team members.
Leverage expertise to mentor others, develop techniques, and complete tasks efficiently.
Assemble and fit parts, perform drilling, riveting, and layout/fabrication on aircraft.
Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical instructions.
Collaborate with supervision and Inspection to ensure FAA compliance and quality standards.
Transition to new tasks with minimal impact on goals and schedules.
Use tools such as riveting guns, drills, countersinks, and rivet shavers to rivet assemblies and safely remove fasteners.
Inspect assemblies to ensure defect-free work prior to final inspection.
Mentor team members on blueprints, drawings, and production challenges; create methods and shop aids to address installation issues.
Maintain accurate records, including MIR sheets, DMTs, and PCOs.
Align and assemble parts using jigs, clamps, and fasteners; perform rework to meet conformity requirements.
Plan workloads and resources to meet deadlines and exceed schedule expectations.
Oversee projects and procure necessary materials and documentation.
Maintain a clean, organized work area; support the 5S and Lean Initiatives Program, and comply with safety regulations.
Required Skills:
High School Diploma or GED required.
6+ years of structural assembly experience.
Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred.
Q-stamp preferred.
Proficiency with computers and related software.
Skilled in close-tolerance work, using mathematical formulas, fractions, and decimals.
Strong knowledge of measuring devices and their application within tolerance.
Ability to work any shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and work in confined spaces.
Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
