Packaging Engineer

Description:
A Packaging Engineer job in Windsor, CT is currently available at Belcan Engineering. This job is a full-time direct position with benefits. To be considered for this role, you will need a Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Engineering, or Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering as well as some relevant experience. In this role you will be tasked with creating new packaging designs within the aerospace industry. You will also help the operations team support delivery requirements as well as work with cross-functional teams to make sure requirements are being met.

Packaging Engineer job duties:
* Create new packaging designs for multiple groups
* Offer packaging advice and recommendations to leadership as well as evaluate new packaging materials and equipment
* Handle all packaging related audits (FAA, DCMA etc..)
* Read, interpret and implement customer incoming packaging specs as new revisions and updates are released
* Create on-line work instructions as well as provide packaging training
* Review, Identify, and revise work instruction improvements
* Create project plan and provide weekly progress reports
* Track turnback activity and use CORE quality tools to identify root cause and provide corrective action
* Work with the customer to identify short term improvements and long-term packaging solutions

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Packaging, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering or similar
* One to 10+ years of packaging experience for manufacturing or ideally aerospace
* Knowledge of Aerospace and Government requirements
* Use of CAD tools, SAP/MRP/ERP systems, and intermediate MS Excel
* Ability to successfully collaborate with various groups including engineering, manufacturing, shipping, and project management
* Due to the nature of our work US Citizenship is required
