Customer Service Electronic Repair Technician

Description:
A Customer Service Electronic Repair Technician job is available with a manufacturing client in Salt Lake City, Utah. In this position you will work on a specialized team that aims to provide world class repair services for our customers. You will perform activities associated with the configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic/electro-mechanical parts sent in from customers for repair, as well as new parts going into new equipment manufactured at our SLC manufacturing facility. You will also perform routine maintenance, calibration, and repair of test fixtures to ensure ISO standards are maintained. In this position you will work in a climate-controlled environment and no travel is required.

Job Responsibilities;

* Read engineering drawings and schematics to ensure product is constructed to specifications.
* Component level troubleshooting of electronic PC boards using engineering schematics and typical tools (DVM, O-Scope, Power Supply, Waveform Generators, etc.)
* Component level rework/repair of PC boards containing thru-hole and surface mount components.
* Determine if PC boards and electronic sub-assemblies are tested completely.
* Make technical evaluations with warranty returns and suggest pertinent changes to existing fixtures or programs to ensure quality testing of PC boards and electronic sub-assemblies.
* Repairs and/or modifies electronic sub-assemblies as per engineering change orders.
* Participates in ISO continuous improvement and safety programs to ensure adaptation to customer's needs.
* Participates in Job Safety Analysis/Behavior Based Observations to identify and reduce potential health and safety risks.

Job Requirements:

* Associates degree in electronic engineering technologies or equivalent, with a minimum of 2 years practical experience to include troubleshooting digital and analog electronics.
* Understanding of AC/DC electrical theory and how to apply it.
* Must have ability to operate typical electronic lab instruments (DVM, O-Scope, Power Supply, Waveform Generators, etc.).
* Applied knowledge of ESD prevention programs.
* Must be proficient using Microsoft Windows® operating system and basic understanding of computers.
* Ability to program in high level languages: C, C++, Pascal, etc., and to understand and use computer functions with respect to product testing, is a plus.
