Test Equipment Engineer

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking Test Equipment Engineer in Melbourne, FL.

  • The primary responsibility for this position is to develop and maintain test solutions.
  • The candidate who fills this position must have strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • This position will heavily utilize software development and debug skills on multi-rack automated test stations.
  • The engineer who fills this position must have systems, development, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • The primary software languages used are a combination of LabView, C# and NI TestStand on multi-rack test stations.
  • Typical test stations include components such as switch systems, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, DMM's, power supplies and other RF or digital related equipment.
  • This position also requires development and support of Environmental Stress Screening (thermal and vibration) test equipment and software suites

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Develop engineering estimates for complex tasks
  • Contribute to the success of a cross-functional team
  • Perform engineering requirements capture, analysis and creation for complex designs
  • Review product designs and analyze test requirements
  • Design test hardware including fixtures, cabling, and circuit cards
  • Develop automated test software and user interfaces
  • Verify test results are accurate, repeatable and reliable
  • Lead test software design reviews and ensure the generation of appropriate design documentation
  • Prepare and present project / technical information to peers, internal management and customers
  • Plan and manage tasks effectively
  • Mentor junior engineers

Desired skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline is required.
  • Programming with C#/LabVIEW
  • Familiarity in developing with NI Test Stand platform
  • Fundamental knowledge of RF and digital electronics
  • Experience with test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Digital Multimeters, Signal Generators, etc.
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to details
