Software Engineer 4

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer in Oklahoma City, OK.


  • Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
  • Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system.
  • Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
  • Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities.
  • Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics.
  • Plans, executes and documents software research and development projects.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.
  • Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.
  • Works under minimal direction.
  • Work on many different platforms such as Bombers
  • Apply knowledge and experience to rapidly maintain, modify, and develop LabVIEW products in a Lab environment for a variety of technical scenarios
  • Coordinate and lead LabVIEW activities with teammates, customers, and program personnel through the development and sustainment of various systems
  • Develop and mentor teammates through the development of a variety of LabVIEW efforts including signal generation using NIFPGA DIO
  • Implement basic communication protocols such as GPIB, UDP, and Serial to interface with embedded systems
  • Support project management by tracking and reporting project status, by generating bids and requirements, and by providing work statement, budget, and schedule

Other job responsibilities may include:

  • Review supplier and partner qualification data for Electronic Products compatibility
  • Analyze customer and system requirements and development of architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various electronic products
  • Develop high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications
  • Identify, track, and status technical performance measures to measure progress and ensure compliance with requirements
  • Plan research projects to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements
  • Research specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience,
  • Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
