PDS Tech Inc. is seeking candidates for a Financial Analyst position in Wichita, KS
Position Summary:
Performs variance analysis of monthly financial data, various administration projects and business performance. Plans and supports financial analysis assignments, highlights risks and opportunities to the Head of Engineering Controlling & analyzes and interprets financial data. Prepares financial reports & provides Senior Management with information on all KPI, revenue & cost variances. Participates in projects, preparing financial data as necessary. This position will support the Head of Engineering Controlling and is a shared services role to the Wichita, KS, Mobile, AL and the U.S. Program Management teams. The holder is responsible to become a "super-user" in Financial Information Systems as well as Tableau and Alteryx.
Primary Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis: 65%
- Supports the development of site Annual Operating Plans, rolling forecasts (FCI, FCII, FCIII) including CbN, headcount, offload, workload expenditures, hourly rate, financial performance analysis & funding requirements
- Support improvement and strategic Initiatives, including Business Cases
- Proactively contributes to financial alignment of all Engineering business areas
- Interpretation of key indicators. Analysis of variances to AOP, explanation and communication to Controller
- Refreshes monthly reporting & analyzes cost variances versus budget, prepares bridging & questions variances to OP/FC's and updates dashboards
- Alerts Controller when actuals deviate from budget & actively supports risk and opportunity management
- Performs financial forecasting and reconciliation of accounts. Identifies relevant concerns, factors and patterns to formulate logical and objective conclusions
- Extracts general ledger information; compiles cost revenue reports, and balance sheet. Maintains and reconciles financial data for all metrics reports and understands calculations and relationship to financial
- Performs monthly and year-end fiscal closing functions. Reviews and reconciles ledgers, accounting documents, and financial reports
- Preparation & collection of inputs for financial stakeholders (CEO dashboard, workload assumptions, headcount assumptions, integration, primary, direct and secondary cost accounting and hourly rate)
Stakeholder Management & Compliance: 25%
- Interfaces with European counterparts, Business Operations Analysts to provide/gather business/operational data and information for data analysis and reporting
- Maintains visibility of offsite supplier financial purchasing obligations, along with current view of outsourced workload requirements, ensuring accuracy of expenditures and forecasts
- Follows the Engineering Controlling Handbook rules and guides site best practices to ensure site compliance
Accounting: 10%
- Prepares site and external work package invoicing, delivery note verification & data validation
- Supports the financial close & monitors finance KPI's
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:
Education Required: Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business Administration or related field
Experience: Required: 3-5 years of experience in Finance
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:
Required: Knowledge of business intelligence software, Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel) & Accounting/Finance concepts
Preferred: Business Analytics software, SAP, Tableau & Alteryx
Travel Required: <10% Domestic and International
Eligibility: Authorized to Work in the US Decision Making, Complexity: Ability to independently develop, communicate and recommend financial models and processes. Ability to ascertain and explain variances to planning. Nature of Contacts: Identify the communications in performing the responsibilities of this position: internal, external, cursory, involved, influencing, negotiating, and frequency. Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:
Education:
- Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; Information Systems or Decision Sciences. Other degree areas will be considered with commensurate work experience.
- Preferred: Master of Business Administration degree in Accounting or Finance or a Master's degree in Information Systems, Decision Sciences or Computer Science
Experience:
- Required: 3-5 years in Data Analytics, Operations or Finance
- Required: 3-5 years directly related to the financial aspects of program/project planning, controlling & operations
Licensure/Certifications:
- Preferred: Tableau Desktop Certified Associate Certification
- Preferred: Alteryx Designer Core Certification
