Manufacturing Engineer (Second Shift)

Manufacturing Design Engineer (Second Shift)

The position will be responsible for design and development of tooling and fixture design utilizing 3D CAD (SolidWorks & Creo) to be utilized to provide continue improvement of manufacturing processes related to 5-axis machined parts, welding and fabrication, and assembly. The candidate will provide technical expertise within a team to develop and implement those processes that meet engineering requirements for complex aerospace and defense hardware, both prototypes and production, in a variety of materials including Inconel, Titanium, Aluminum, and composites. This position will be required to take ownership of the manufacturing processing for programs from conception to completion.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Proficient with 3D CAD/CAM software to include modeling, ASSY, BOM drawing creation.
Creates detailed work instructions, mfg. sketches and other shop floor documentation.
Work with CNC programmers, machinist & welders to develop process flow to develop work packages.
Provide shop-floor support, as necessary.
Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives.
Assist in the developing project set-up and changeover procedures.
Reviews preliminary product designs, assists in making recommendations to reduce cost and improve manufacturability and qualify on new or existing parts
Desired Qualifications:

BS Degree and 5 Years of experience in manufacturing and machining environment (Preference to Aerospace or Defense related roles)
Significant 3D design and modeling experience utilizing SolidWorks & Creo
CAM experience utilizing SurfCam or CATiA CAM
Vericut Simulation experience a plus
Tooling & Fixture Design experience utilizing GD&T and MIL STDS
Candidates must possess or be able to obtain and a “Secret Clearance” via required background checks. Position is in North Alabama, area.
