Inspect What Keeps the World Flying as an NDT Specialist  

Location: Tukwila, WA | Schedule: 1st shift, 7am to 3:30pm | Starting Pay Rate: $47.52

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Specialists for the In-Service NDT team in Tukwila, WA.

The Role & Your Impact 

As an NDT Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the structural integrity and continued airworthiness of in-service aircraft components. Your work will influence inspection standards, testing procedures, and calibration methods that directly support safe operations across the aerospace industry. 

This is more than performing inspections—you will author procedures, develop technical documentation, and identify trends that drive proactive safety and quality improvements.

What You’ll Do 

Technical Leadership & Procedure Development 

• Author and refine Non-Destructive Test (NDT) procedures. 

• Incorporate revisions from Responsible Level III authorities into standard procedure reviews. 

• Write Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Eddy Current Testing (ET) techniques and inspection procedures. 

• Compose detailed procedure figures outlining inspection locations, geometry, accessibility, probe/transducer placement, and notch signal response. 

Testing, Calibration & Equipment Setup 

• Perform setup and calibration of NDT equipment to approved standards. 

• Develop Computer Assisted Drawings (CAD) for specialized calibration standards. 

• Ensure compliance with aerospace in-service inspection requirements. 

Analysis & Continuous Improvement 

• Report anomalous results and identify potential adverse inspection trends. 

• Contribute to data-driven decision-making that enhances aircraft safety and reliability. 

• Support a culture of quality, accountability, and knowledge-sharing across teams and customers. 

Required Qualifications 

• 20+ years of experience in Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) or Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) 

• 20+ years of aerospace in-service support experience with Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and/or Eddy Current Testing (ET) 

• Demonstrated experience writing UT and ET inspection techniques and procedures 

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite 

• Ability to work variable shifts, overtime, and occasional weekends as needed 

• Ability to travel up to 15% 

Preferred Qualifications 

• 25+ years of related experience or equivalent education and experience 

• 800+ hours of Ultrasonic Testing (UT) 

• 300+ hours of Ultrasonic Shear-Wave Testing 

• 800+ hours of Eddy Current Testing (ET) 

• Experience using CAD software for technical drawing and calibration standard development
