Sr. Electrical Test Equipment Design Engineer - Level 3 / Level 4

Location: Canoga Park, CA
Pay Range: $60.00 - $67.14/HR
Job Type: 6 Month Contract
Schedule: 9/80

**Looking for expertise in the design of Automated Electrical Test Equipment**
**Looking for 5 years+ of experience and expertise in the software and hardware design of automated test equipment consoles/racks for electrical applications**

Duties:
-Perform engineering tasks related to the design of automated test system software use for power and digital electronics test of space and defense applications. Included is the development of test software requirements and verification test software. Support resolution of anomalies occurring during integration and test of a test system, as well as during subsequent delivery and test system usage.
-The applicant should have the expertise in electronics and automated test system design.
-Our automated test systems include those designed for testing analog, digital and high-power electronics for space and defense applications.
-Units requiring automated test range from single-board computers, data acquisition boards, valve actuators to rocket engine controllers used in space-based applications.
-The automated test systems perform acceptance testing at the PWA (board) and unit (box) level.
-The applicant should be familiar with standard test equipment (stimulus and measurement devices, both analog and digital) and capable of designing custom interface circuits where COTS equipment does satisfy test requirements.
-Familiarity with STE software (LabVIEW & LabWindows) is desirable.

Skills:
-Proficiency in the:
-Design of test consoles, test adapters, and/or test cables;
-Development of test system requirements and verification methodologies;
-Development of test equipment drawings;
-Integration of test hardware and test software;
-Development of test procedures;
-Troubleshooting of equipment, circuit boards, cables, etc.;
-Providing resolution of test anomalies.
-Hands-on experience with Test Instrumentation such as Oscilloscopes, Multiplexers, Logic Analyzers, Data Acquisition systems, etc.
-Experience with scripting language such as C, C++ and/or proficient in the use of the National Instruments (NI) development suite (Lab Windows/CVI, LabVIEW and TestStand).
-Demonstrate ability to work independently and drive toward goals.
-Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to coordinate and collaborate with local/on-site teams, as well as teams at other sites.

Education:
-Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering and five (5) or more years of experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
