Quality Systems Specialist 4

Description:

This is a very exciting opportunity to work with one of the world's largest aerospace companies!

The contracts are regularly extended and direct opportunities are often available.

Leads Quality reviews of proposals, contracts, regulatory, program and customer requirements ensuring early quality involvement in program development. Develops Quality budget and cost estimates. Leads multi-function, multi-site groups to develop company directives, policies, processes, procedures and metrics to assure program, contract, customer, regulatory requirements, international standards and working agreements are deployed. Leads stakeholders in analysis of process data, metrics, models and flows to identify root cause of complex problems and development and implementation of preventive or corrective actions. Conducts research, compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics to continuously improve process capability. Conducts quality source selection and process capability assessments of suppliers'' ability to meet program quality requirements and support business decisions. Develops
Quality criteria for supplier source selection and a coordinated response for review and approval by senior management. Develops scope, schedule, plans and leads hardware, software and system level audits to determine compliance with quality management system standards, configuration assurance, related business, regulatory and customer requirements, and reports results to management. Trains senior management on preparation for third party audits. Analyzes data to provide material review dispositions for complex nonconforming materials, parts and equipment. Assists in the development of new standard repairs for nonconforming materials, parts and equipment. Works under minimal direction.

Develops & applies AS9145 / Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools, training & processes in collaboration with business unit teams to improve safety, quality & operational performance. Assists teams to implement Statistical Process Controls (SPC) and Process Control Monitoring (PCM). Conducts Quality reviews focused on APQP application to changes, work movements, quality improvements, proposals, contracts, regulatory, program and customer requirements and ensures early quality involvement and APQP execution in program development. Leads stakeholders in analysis of product & process data, metrics, models and flows to prevent problems and supports RCCA projects to develop and implement preventive or corrective actions. Conducts research, compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics to continuously improve process capability using APQP tools. Conducts quality reviews and process capability assessments of suppliers' ability to meet quality requirements and support business decisions. Trains business unit teams on preparation for APQP / SPC / PCM application and quality third party audits. Works under minimal direction.
Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.
Additional Skills:
o Bachelor's Degree
o 3+ years of experience with the application of AS9145 / Advanced Product Quality Planning
o 5+ years or experience with Quality Systems in the Aviation industry
o 5+ years of experience in an engineering and/or manufacturing environment
o 5+ years of experience using strong analytical and problem solving skills
o Strong communication & presentation skills
o Experience leading cross-functional teams
o Experience working with internal and external customers and suppliers

REQUIRED - Prior APQP experience strongly preferred
Prior product or process engineering experience.
Aircraft or automotive original equipment manufacturing
Statistical process control.
Skills: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.)
Work Location/Building: TUKWILA, WA / EVERETT, WA / ST. LOUIS, MO / Ridley Park, PA / Mesa, AZ

HOW WILL LOCATION BE DETERMINED? Must be local to one of these locations.

Are you okay with out-of-state candidates?: YES must be willing to come in as needed, Company will not pay for travel.

Remote, onsite or a combination of both? Combination, remote work 80% of the time.
Note: Manager feedback on candidates submitted thus far: Really looking for Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) hands on experience. Bachelor's degree, Experience as a Design Engineer / Process Engineer or Quality EngineerWork. Experience in one of the following: Aerospace / Automotive / Medical Devices / Electronics Statistical Process Control and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing are a plus. Certified Quality Engineer is a plus / highly desirable. Many of the candidates submitted did not have degrees, did not have APQP experience or were more project managers / not 'doers'.
