PAY RATE: $25.65 per hour

Summary:
Prepare and apply finishes to aircraft furniture using aircraft specifications, designs, and engineering drawings, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, detail, and productivity.
Assist team members to enhance techniques that support quality workmanship.
Prepare furniture for finishing and disassembly using blueprints, aircraft specifications, and design/engineering drawings.
Perform high-quality repairs to various finished surfaces in the shop and on aircraft.
Clean and polish blemishes as needed to prepare the aircraft for delivery.
Apply finishes to furniture using spray equipment and other manual/mechanical methods.
Utilize various sandpapers, polishes, adhesives, masking mediums, solvents, finish materials, hand tools, and power tools to disassemble and finish furniture.
Comply with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies; use personal protective equipment to safeguard the aircraft interior.
Use the material tracking system to create parts demands, track issues, and sign off on completed work.
Collaborate with lead and skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements that enhance safety, reduce costs, cycle time, and man-hours using Lean Six Sigma and other process improvement techniques.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Two (2) years of experience in wood finishing; aerospace industry experience preferred.
Basic knowledge of cabinet finishing processes and products.
Working knowledge of inspection and process specifications.
Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
Must be computer literate.
