Engineering Manager - Aerospace WA-1601 July 2021

Description:
Our client in the Seattle, WA area is a Leading FAA Certified Aerospace Repair and Service company specializing in cockpit repairs including avionics who are looking for a Manager of Engineering. This individual will develop, maintain and effectively execute development and R&D project plans in accordance with the company's strategic plan and will be responsible for production programs sustaining engineering.

Keltia Design is a technical support services company providing Engineering Design, CAD Training along with Specialized Technical Recruiting services to mainly the aerospace and other industries in WA State, around the US, Canada and Europe. We have been in business for over 20 years in the US and 9 years in Europe.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract and Permanent Positions

Hands-on Engineering Manager Key Requirements
• Experience in leading teams and in project management
• Experience getting DER repairs/PMA/STC approved by the FAA
• Experience with aircraft transparencies
• Experience determining and articulating cost/benefit analysis of development projects
• Experience/ability presenting to airline customers
• This position is not just design/reverse engineering – it also is responsible for driving production/efficiency improvements

Responsibilities:

This individual must have a thorough understanding of the aircraft materials and structures markets and be familiar with suppliers, customers and OEWs in the Air Transport/RegionaI markets. Additional experience in General Aviation would be a plus.

Supervise and lead engineers and/or technicians who design repairs for cockpit window structures and transparencies
Coordinate engineering activities with manufacturing, quality, sales and marketing, and other groups within the Company, consistent with the Company's strategic goals.
Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and direct the integration of technical activities.
Monitor production for trends and implement lasting corrective actions.
Oversee the research and development of new products and procedures.
Hire, train, and mentor other engineers and supporting staff.
Assign, direct, and evaluate the engineering team's work; and oversee the development and maintenance of the team's competence.

Experience:

BS in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum Of 5 years engineering experience in the Aerospace MRO industry
Extensive experience with FAA certification programs, preferably involving aircraft structures.
Prefer Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent certification

Eligibility Requirement:

Must be a US Person under International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) to be eligible. This is an FAA Safety Sensitive position.
