Job Description:
Work Location: Portland, OR. CANDIDATES MUST LIVE IN THE PORTLAND, OR AREA TO QUALIFY.

This is a remote position as the FSE works from their home, not an office. However, the service calls are in Oregon and Washington. The FSE will be traveling to customer sites to do the work, so they must be located close to Portland.

Some of the recent rejection reasons from the HM have been:
Had FSE experience but didn't have much experience working with the calibrated tools an FSE would use in this position. Didn't have much experience with online software documentation to close out service orders.
Their resume states can interview ASAP. However, 12 hours of notice was not enough notice for the candidate.
He does not field service experience.
Candidate is not local to Portland

When candidate was asked about the HVAC skill listed on his resume, he stated he doesn't recall having HVAC listed as a skill. Candidate also showed reservations about the requirement of traveling to multiple customer locations throughout Oregon and, at times, Washington. It seemed the job was not fully explained to the candidate.
No Show to Interview
Zero experience working on lab equipment. All his experience is in I.T.
Has zero experience with Cold Storage, lab equipment, and medical devices.
____________
Thermo will provide:
Laptop
Cell Phone
Calibrated Tools
Hand Tools
Themo Won’t Supply:
Company Credit Card for expenses. The FSE will need to submit reimbursement weekly through Work spend to recover costs of hotels and food.

Company Vehicle: FSE will provide their own vehicle and then submit for reimbursement via Work spend at the IRS tax rate per mile***

Portland, OR
Remote, the FSE would work out of their house.
Mostly First shift, 8 am to 5 pm but could have days where they work past 5 pm. Weekends are rare.
100% remote. They are asked to complete two service calls per day.
Overtime is possible, but our goal is under 10% or 4 hours or less.
Temp to Perm is possible but not for 16 to 24 months.

Resume:
I am looking for someone with Field Service Experience. An FSE who has worked without direct supervision, making decisions that impact the business daily.
I need an FSE who has refrigeration experience. They would hold all EPA certifications needed to do 'Brazing' or 'Hot Work' on refrigeration equipment.
I need a self-starter. Someone who can plan multiple service orders over multiple weeks and is able to provide industry-leading customer service.
HVAC is an industry that is similar to this position.
I would prefer someone with at least five years of field service experience without direct supervision.
This is a new position.
The applicant needs to be able to run Windows 10/11, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI. It would help if they had experience with Concur Travel.
The perfect candidate would be someone who is a self-starter, takes on the Oregon territory like they own the territory, and can get along with the different personalities of the customers and of the other FSEs in the region. Someone who can learn via online classes, online videos, and some classroom training.
The work environment is in controlled environments with laboratory settings. At times they will be working in 'clean rooms.' Most of our customers are open 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
Interviews will most likely be completed via MS Teams.
Experience working on Centrifuges, Shakers, and Incubators would be extremely helpful.
