Assembly and Fitting: Safely perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures, including various drilling and riveting operations. Ensure that parts and assemblies meet established specifications and requirements.
Sheetmetal Layout and Fabrication: Perform sheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment, or fabricated items on aircraft. Ensure precise and accurate work in all tasks.
Riveting and Fastening: Rivet structural assemblies and parts using required tools such as portable riveting guns, pneumatic drills, countersinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, and rivets. Demonstrate the ability to remove fasteners without damaging the structure.
Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine the sequence of operations, hole patterns, and material requirements. Follow standard operating procedures when using adhesives, sealants, and solvents.
Quality Assurance: Check all work to ensure defect-free assembly before final inspection and ensure that assemblies meet the required standards of conformity.
Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain and use all required logs and records, including Material Inspection Records (MIR), Discrepant Material Tags (DMT), Production Change Orders (PCO), and others as necessary.
Parts Assembly and Alignment: Align and assemble parts using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners. Use proper tooling to shape and form complex angles and configurations according to blueprint specifications or verbal/written instructions.
Repairs and Rework: Make repairs as necessary per Discrepant Material Tags (DMT), Material Review Request (MRR), and Production Change Orders (PCO). Perform rework to ensure installations meet required standards of conformity.
Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly work area. Support the company’s 5S program and comply with all safety regulations. Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
