Procurement Manager

A Procurement Manager position in Lindale, TX, is currently available through Belcan. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, leading and coordinating procurement efforts of the matrix organization for the acquisition of supplies for all vessels, offices, and land based operations. To be considered for this position you must have excellent communication skills, detail oriented and a positive attitude.

Procurement Manager Job duties:
o Build relationships with potential vendors and donors by sharing clients mission and vision of hope and healing in a way that inspires them.
o Manage the ISC (International Support Center) Procurement team and implement continuous improvement activities that ensure processes are efficient, effective, and compliant with applicable laws and organizational policies and procedures.
o Establish, manage, and nurture vendor and donor relationships (corporate or individuals), in partnership with Resource Development, which contribute supplies and equipment. Keep contact information current. Manage vendor research, needs analysis with internal stakeholders, and negotiations for potential purchases.
o Monitor expenditures against departmental budget and plans. Prepares budgetary recommendations that meet departmental goals and provide for effective management of resources.
o Manage departmental and employee management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies which include: planning, hiring, assigning, training and directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
o Manage supply chain data for accurate tracking and monitoring of products, specifically standardized product lists, item valuation, and vendor master data.
o Maintain coordination and serve as liaison point with the warehousing and shipping/logistics operations across all Mercy Ships procurement locations to ensure that requirements are satisfied at the most economical means possible.
o Maintain confidentiality of all client/personnel/organizational files.
o Manage projects to meet container shipping deadlines.
o Conduct pricing audits on key vendors to ensure maximized value.
o Knowledge and understanding of organization's supply chain processes, policies and procedures.
o Ability to negotiate effectively while maintaining relationships with vendors, donors, and suppliers.
o Ability to supervise and train staff members and to foster a cooperative work environment, including volunteer teams.

o Prior experience and management in supply operations required.
o Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred. High School Diploma required.
o Preferred: Non-profit organizations experience.
o Experience in import/export business.
o Experience with healthcare terms and supplies.
