What You’ll Do:

Analyze effects of projects upon various areas such as Engineering, Facilities, and the labor pool to determine the most practical and cost-efficient methods to obtain the required resources
Design systems, software and equipment layout
Design, develop, analyze, troubleshoot and provide technical skills during research and/or product development
Determine, monitor, and review costs, operational budgets and schedules, and manpower requirements
Develop test plans and preventative maintenance programs
Develop, implement, install, test, modify and/or operate complex equipment and systems
Effective creative application of technical competence within domain of expertise
Effectively participates on the engineering work team and supports other team members
concerning experiment design, materials, equipment setup/maintenance and related issues
Establish work methodology and sequence to gather and organize data for review with appropriate engineer(s) in support of project
Formulate and recommend corrective action measures such as schedule revisions, manpower adjustments, fund allocations, and work requirements

Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the system
Maintain records, compiles reports, graphs, charts and related data in support of projects
Make recommendations and coordinates and identifies resources required to meet defined
project requirements
Participate in the tactical planning for completion of identified project segment
Perform research and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting and repairing of devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems
Prepare and coordinate the plans and schedules for new or existing programs
Provide technical expertise to customers, users or company personnel either at domestic or international field sites
Regular communication with other internal customer’s/work teams
Resolve proposal preparation problems and assesses the progress against established plans and parameters
Serve as company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects
Serve as technical support resource with a demonstrated level of narrowly focused technical competence within defined engineering discipline
Support and participate in negotiations with customer
Utilize defined resources to meet project requirements
Build productive internal/external working relationships
Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy
Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors
Work under only very general supervision
Contribute to the completion of organizational projects and goals
Develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity
Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
Frequent internal company and external contacts
Frequent use and considerable knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards
Grasp and apply new information quickly; handles more complex assignments
Error in judgment or failure to achieve results would normally require a moderate expenditure of resources to rectify
May provide work direction to other employees; lacks authority to discipline or reward
Non-technical Support
Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments
Refer to policies and practices for guidance
Represent organization on specific projects
Show initiative on assignments, exercises independent judgment and professionally executes projects with little direction
Technical Support

What You’ll Need:

Considerable ability to perform all responsibilities associated with the position
Considerable professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues
Considerable application of concepts and principles
Creative, innovative responsibilities requiring advanced decision-making skills
Demonstrate competent level of theoretical and practical knowledge within a defined engineering support discipline
Demonstrate considerable communications skills
Demonstrate creativity in resolving process and technical issues
Demonstrate narrowly focused in-depth technical level of practical operational process knowledge in a specific engineering area
Demonstrates technical competence in the setup, monitoring and documentation of experiments and/or lab equipment
Effective leadership for team members with less domain knowledge

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s of Science Degree or Technology Degree, a related specialized area or field combined with 2 + years of relevant work experience; or Master’s Degree
