Job Description: Seeking a Software Engineer to join our team located in Colorado Springs, CO or Schriever AFB, CO.
This position will support Software Engineer activities for these critical national defense programs and work directly with and assist the Red LAN Program Lead Engineers and program senior SEIT leadership.

The Red LAN program supports the United States Space Force by providing Space Domain Awareness data to end users which is critical to the execution of US space operations. In addition, our Space and Launch Team creates the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit. We work with proprietary customers in the development of the next generation technologies in space. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.

The Software Engineer will be a part of a highly skilled team that manages multiple critical projects for the Red LAN customers. You will development, implement, test, and maintain an infrastructure adhering to Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements, Configuration Management (CM), and customers' requirements for the Red LAN program. The Red LAN team offers a collaborative environment where you have the opportunity to learn from or lead others.

Position Responsibilities:
* Utilize Python and Java software languages to develop satellite ground control systems.
* Agile Development within a cross-discipline team
* Continuous integration, testing, and delivery within a CI/CD pipeline
* Utilize microservice containerized software architecture.
* Utilize Kubernetes, Docker
* Decompose complex requirements and capabilities into executable discrete user stories.

Required Skills:
* Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance.
* 5 + years of experience utilizing Python for software development.
* 3 + years of experience utilizing Java development processes.
* 2 + years of experience in developing software unit tests and automated functional testing

Preferred Skills:
* Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI
* 5+ years of experience with open-source software development experience.
* 5+ years of experience with fine tuning Kubernetes and the underlying host OS for optimal performance in a low-latency environment.
* 5+ years of experience troubleshooting software and network integration during platform deployments.
* Proven ability to plan, schedule, and deliver quality software.
* Experience and ability to support Government security requirements and best practices for software delivery involving system accreditation.
* Experience working in an Agile software development environment utilizing Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.) or similar tools.
Education / Experience: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
