PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading innovator in the semiconductor and advanced manufacturing industry to hire a skilled Senior IT Engineer for one of its most mission?critical sites located in Richardson, Texas. This role is essential to supporting and advancing the digital backbone that powers high?precision, high?reliability manufacturing operations.

Role Overview

As a Senior IT Engineer, you will architect, deploy, and support advanced IT and OT solutions for a 24/7 mission-critical semiconductor manufacturing site. You will collaborate with cross?functional teams to design, implement, and optimize infrastructure that enables factory automation, equipment integration, fault detection, AI?based process control, and advanced manufacturing systems.

You’ll work hands?on across VMware, Windows/Linux servers, Kubernetes clusters, network fundamentals, and automation technologies, helping the site evolve toward state?of?the?art digital manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Provide operational support for on?premises virtual and physical server infrastructure
• Work with hyper?converged platforms such as Dell VXRail and similar emerging technologies
• Troubleshoot performance issues across virtualized and bare?metal environments
• Implement new technology stacks and migrate workloads from physical to virtual instances
• Deploy and support early-stage Kubernetes container environments and help scale this capability
• Partner with semiconductor process and equipment vendors to drive infrastructure enhancements
• Participate in daily tier meetings with factory systems and operations teams
• Collaborate with Corporate IT and Global Security to ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards
• Support network configuration activities (firewalls, VPN, VLANs, routing, DNS, DHCP, NAT)
• Document infrastructure, automation scripts, and system configurations for operational continuity
• Support backup, disaster recovery, and resiliency strategies

Must?Have Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years supporting enterprise server ecosystems
• 5+ years with Windows Server OS and RHEL Linux (5–9.x)
• 3+ years working with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms
• 3+ years with virtualization platforms: VMware, vSAN, vSphere, VCF/NSX
• 1+ years with Docker & Kubernetes
• Experience with automation or IaC tools:
  • Tanium, Chef, JSON, PowerShell, Ruby, or similar
• Strong understanding of network fundamentals: firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, routing/switching
• Experience with backup & disaster recovery strategies
• Ability to produce clear, maintainable infrastructure documentation

Valued (Preferred) Qualifications

• Advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
• Experience with Windows patching tools such as Tanium and OS hardening practices
• Exposure to the software development lifecycle
• Support experience with Cisco Nexus & Catalyst switches
• Knowledge of data recovery tools such as Rubrik
• Experience supporting IT/OT systems, MES platforms, industrial networks, and automation
• Understanding of SCADA, industrial PCs/servers, and segmented factory networks
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to influence positive change across teams
• A self?driven, proactive mindset with minimal supervision
