PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced and detail oriented Sr. Buyer to support one of our leading defense industry partner Honeywell in Clearwater, Florida. This role is ideal for a procurement professional with strong SAP experience, a background in purchasing electronic and mechanical components, and the ability to manage complex supplier and project challenges.

You will play a key role in ensuring continuity of supply, driving cost effective purchasing strategies, and supporting high visibility procurement projects that directly impact operational and delivery success.

Role Overview

As a  Sr. Buyer, you will oversee and direct procurement and purchasing activities, ensuring continuity of supply, cost effectiveness, supplier alignment, and adherence to organizational strategy. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and cross functional teams to execute procurement initiatives and support complex sourcing projects.

You will report directly to the Sr. Procurement Manager and support strategic procurement execution across the Clearwater site.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a procurement strategy aligned with organizational objectives

• Manage complex procurement projects from initiation through delivery

• Drive continuity of supply, ensuring materials and components are delivered on time

• Communicate regularly with suppliers and internal stakeholders

• Understand market trends and proactively adjust procurement approach

• Resolve invoice discrepancies and support corrective actions as needed

• Ensure compliance with strategic procurement policies

• Support cost reduction initiatives and process improvements

• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships

• Provide project management support for complex sourcing challenges

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field preferred)

• 3+ years of buyer/procurement experience

• Proven success managing large scale procurement operations

• Strong negotiation and contract management experience

• Proficient with procurement tools and software

• In?depth knowledge of procurement strategies and supplier relationship management

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP experience strongly preferred

• Background procuring electronic components, mechanical parts, and assemblies

• Strong analytical and data driven decision making skills

• Ability to lead cross functional teams and drive organizational change

• Strategic thinker with strong problem solving abilities

• Familiarity with reading engineering drawings and technical data sheets

• Experience supporting complex or highly technical products
