Job Description:

• Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.

• Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system.

• Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.

• Performs software project management and software supplier management functions.

• Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics.

• Executes and documents software research and development projects. Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.

• Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.

• Works under general direction.

• Solutions is looking for a Software Engineer - Experienced to join the team in Omaha or Offutt Air Force Base, NE.

• This position will support the Air Vehicle Planning System (APS) software development team for the Integrated Strategic Planning and Analysis Network (ISPAN) at United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM).

• This position will act as a liaison for Solution’s product development team and collaborate with our customer, Leidos, and the government teams to guide the program in identifying and prioritizing issues, requirements are understood and fully coordinated.



Position Responsibilities:



• Work with both the software team and the Government to ensure issues, requirements, etc. are understood by all involved and resolutions are fully coordinated prior to implementation

• Develop solutions to complex technical issues and problems that impact multiple mission areas

• Identify opportunities to integrate processes and technologies to improve APS capabilities and user experience

• Provide reach back capability into development teams

• Regularly employ ingenuity and creativity to develop new technical solutions in order to achieve functional objectives

• Establish, maintain and expand strong relationships with senior government customers to ensure customer satisfaction

• Assist the Government with identifying new requirements and properly documenting software change requests (SCRs)

• Assist Agile Team(s) in building, understanding and analysing desired outcomes

• All aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding, and automated testing within an Agile and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery model

• Clearly communicate the software architecture to Government and Agile teams with varying levels of technical understanding

• Collaborate with cyber security, systems engineer / product owners, users, and developers to design and communicate an innovative and secure architecture that enables continuous delivery of software

• Must be local and able to work 100% onsite

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Experience with the use of the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) for conventional aircraft mission planning

• BS degree in a technical discipline with 5+ recent experience in software development, system and software integration, test, requirements analysis and definition, software deployment and troubleshooting

• Hands-on experience with Java/C++ and object oriented programming

• Hands-on experience with JavaScript and JS frameworks such as React

• Proficiency with basic web technologies including HTML, CSS, XML, SOAP, WSDL, REST, JSON, and JavaScript

• Ability to apply software development process fundamentals

• Strong, self-motivated desire to learn new programming languages, tools, frameworks, and technique



Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Experience with the use of multiple developed MPS’s

• Experience with USSTRATCOM ISPAN domain

• Experience with the use of the Air Vehicle Planning System (APS) for mission planning

• Active DoD TS security clearance or greater

• DOD 8570 IAT level 2 baseline certification



Typical Education/ Experience:

• Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience, or a Masters and typically 1 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
