PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Hardware Engineer in Grand Prairie, TX.


  • Seeking an Ambitious Mechanical Engineering & Technology Manager (E&T) to join and become a part of the Mechanical Engineering Department.
  • The candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in and lead some of the company's most highly innovative and ingenious solutions to complex technical problems facing the aerospace industry.
  • The candidate for this Mechanical Engineering & Technology Manager (ETM) position will be leading and supporting a Materials and Processing Team (M&P) in Grand Prairie and will be responsible for the following responsibilities: the management and development of their team, training, support of department initiatives and directorate undertakings, driving technical excellence, affordability, program support execution, and the management and development of their team using all Full Spectrum Leadership imperatives.  The selected ETM providing technical coaching and mentoring, work assignments, employee career development, continuous ongoing feedback, and being their employees advocate in opportunity discussions.
  • To support functional initiatives and directorate undertakings, the E&T manager will be responsible for coordinating employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessments, salary planning, recognition/disciplinary actions, and engineering competency development.
  • To drive technical excellence, affordability, and program execution, the E&T manager will be responsible for supporting program development, execution of program requirements, and adherence to engineering development processes, promoting customer focus, and serving as the technical conscience for their program.
  • Specific tasks for the M&P dept. is to not only manage but include encouragement of cross-program knowledge transfer between the various MFC programs is maintained to ensure best practice processes are shared and analysis techniques utilized are appropriate for the task and program requirements, resources properly allocated to support production programs as well as development and IRAD efforts.
  • Associated efforts include leading and supporting telecoms, review of design package information, supporting technical interchange meetings and design reviews with LM senior technical engineering leads, customers, and functional engineering management, working and developing solutions to engineering issues and staffing needs with chief engineers, interfacing and coordinating efforts with Structural Engineers, Mechanical Designers, Thermal Engineers, Material & Process Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Laboratory Test Engineers, Production Operations, Subcontractor Management and other departments.


Mandatory skills:
  • Must be USC.
  • Must be able to sit onsite at facility.
  • Ability to obtain secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college, preferably in Engineering, Aerospace or other related field with at least 14 years of professional experience (aerospace industry preferred) or Masters degree with 9 years of applicable professional experience.
  • Demonstrated Materials and Processing Engineering Experience within engineering requirements, engineering specifications, engineering drawings and interpretations, analysis, and testing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-Starter Personality
  • Ability to multitask
  • Strong business acumen, management influence and whole systems thinking
  • Ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams
  • Full Lifecycle Development Experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical systems/programs
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Candidate must be capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic environment, and working in an inclusive, team environment.

Desired skills:

  • Strong Interpersonal Skills
  • Engineering management or Engineering team lead experience including task planning, budget management, subcontract management and/or employee development and mentoring.
  • Demonstration of Full Spectrum Leadership imperatives.
  • Extensive and in-depth knowledge of Materials, Material Processing, Surface finishes, Material applications, Material requirements / specifications, Material Testing is highly desirable for the selected candidate which may lead to direct program support while fulfilling this ETM role.
