Handling Qualities Engineer

Position Responsibilities:

Test planning, execution, and reporting on FAA flight tests for Flight Characteristics, Category-A Performance, Category-B Performance, and other related flight tests.
Technical lead for:
Test preparedness and planning including test plan writing
Preparing and presenting company test data packages to the FAA
Preflight test team briefs
Real-time telemetered flight tests
Post-flight team debriefs
Test data analyses
Final test report authoring
Interface with other disciplines (e.g. Avionics, Powerplant, etc.) and organizations both internal and external (FAA, Bell Flight Test Engineering, etc.)

Education Requirements:

Major in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.

Position Requirements:

All years of experience will be considered, preferred at least 5+ years of relevant experience in Aerospace industry is preferred
Must be a proven self-starter and leader requiring minimal supervision, with excellent written and oral communication skills, and computer skills
Familiarity with the following is preferred:
Aircraft / Helicopter flight test and supporting activities
Flight Characteristics / Handling Qualities test and analytical experience
FAA Part 29 or similar FAR regulations or similar military qualification
IADS software for real-time telemetry flight test operations
Bell’s CAFTA flight test data software system
MathWorks MATLAB and Simulink software
ADS-33 and other Handling Qualities specifications
Experience with configuration management tools such as Enovia
Flight director, navigation, autopilot and autonomous flight systems
6 degree of freedom simulation models
