IT Project Manager

The Project Manager will manage and support multiple technology projects including new implementations and system upgrades. Works closely with campus departments, ITS staff, and vendors to successfully mitigate risks and complete project deliverables within the defined time frame and established budget. Appropriately applies project management principles to ensure the project is completed accurately and efficiently with a focus on process improvement. Ensures project outcomes meet all identified project objectives.
Initiates and leads all phases of technology projects from requirements definition through implementation, working collaboratively with project stakeholders.
Develops and maintains project plans in line with departmental and institutional objectives. Monitors and tracks progress against project plans, timelines and budgets.

Defines work structure and ensures structure is adequately resourced, adding and/or removing team members when necessary.
Works with ITS Leadership on resource plans, including assigning tasks and coordinating resources. Holds project team members accountable to deliverables while fostering a team environment.
Assesses and documents project risks, proposes solutions/options and escalates critical issues to project sponsors and/or department leadership
Tracks and manages scope adjustments and ensures any changes to scope are documented and approved with proper change management processes.
Provides regular and clear communication with project teams and stakeholders on project objectives and progress through status reporting, leading formal meetings and other tools as utilized by the department and/or institution.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Project Management or other related field is desired; an Associate's degree with related project management experience may be considered.
This is a Workday ERP project, 50% to 70% of the time will be focused on this
Three to five years experience managing technology related projects and/or delivering enterprise-wide systems solutions

Demonstrated experience effectively leading cross-functional project teams and technology related projects to successful completion
Working knowledge of various project methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, etc.
Experience with project management tracking software (Smartsheets, Asana, Trello, etc...)
Radical commitment to customer service
Highly self-motivated and directed
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple system development projects at once and facilitate project team activities
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentational skills
Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Meticulous follow up and documentation abilities
Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team
Highly effective interpersonal and organizational skills
