Manufacturing Engineer - Electrical & harness installation

Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, electrical and harness installation.

Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.

Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.

Responsibilities include close coordination and collaboration with the Product Focus Teams, Factory Material Flow, Tool Services, and Facilities in developing and implementing production readiness in each of the component and assembly areas. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.

Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.

Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.

Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

A great deal of the role and responsibilities desired are in the electrical hardware and harness installation. The role will be to review and analyze discrepancy documentation, perform true root cause corrective action (RCCA), and create project business cases based on scrap rework and repair (SRR) reduction, estimated labor hours required, and any material costs involved in the corrective action plan.

Must have:
Harness and electrical hardware installation experience.
Plug and Wafer Connection experience
RCCA and SRR experience.
