ASIC Engineer

Description:
Chipton-Ross is seeking an ASIC Engineer 3 (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit Engineer) for a contract opportunity in Baltimore, MD.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Bachelor's degree in an Electrical or Computer Engineering with 8+ years' experience.
o Detailed knowledge and past experience of writing MATLAB scripts for device testing.
o Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
o Familiarity of testing high speed interfaces such as SerDes.
o Working knowledge of standard test equipment: network analyzers, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, synthesizers, digitizers, and/or signal analyzers.
o This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Looking for an ASIC engineer to validate the performance of a high-speed ASIC at our facility in Baltimore, MD. The ASIC is tested using a Stratix 10 FPGA and requires that the qualified candidate have experience of writing Matlab code and VHDL to generate commands to control and capture results. Familiarity with operation of High-Speed Interfaces like a SerDes is required.
Responsibilities:
o Conduct testing of ASIC in the lab utilizing the FPGA which is part of the test set up. Use signal generators, oscilloscopes and network analyzer for testing o Identify, troubleshoot when results don't agree with documentation and generate reports for the program leads o Communicate project status to the Integration and Test (I&T) lead.
o Create new or update Matlab scripts that provide control and command for the test fixture.
o Update FPGA firmware using VHDL as needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Knowledge of High-Speed ADC for Direct RF sampled systems.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree is required.
School must be accredited.

HOURS:
9/80 workweek. 100% on-site.
