CNC Machinist 

Description:
Responsibilities:

Perform machine set-up, machining, welding set-up, welding, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending and fabrication tasks.
Perform composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks.
Assemble precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components.
Assemble, repair, modify and install various power plants and drive trains.
Perform soldering on electronic and avionics products. Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products.
Prepare test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests.
Perform basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation.
Apply routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements.
Work on articles of limited complexity following established drawings and requirements.
Proficient with Fanuc and/or Siemens controlled CNC milling machines, CNC lathes & CNC mill-turn machines.
Perform set-ups and machining on 3, 4 & 5 axis CNC milling machines of production parts for 737, 767, 777 / 777x & 787.
Hand finish and edge break of aluminum, stainless & titanium production parts.
Perform production part inspection with all manner of hand inspection tools during production.
Perform part production using established drawings, specifications and requirements.
Utilize and follow standardized work and step details required for production parts and assemblies.
Use BPSM or RPS to support real time problem solving – stop work if / when required to find the true root cause.
Ensure all parts are inspected prior to closing an operation so we do not pass on any defects to our downstream customers.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED and typically 1 or more years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficient with Fanuc and/or Siemens controlled CNC milling machines, CNC lathes & CNC mill-turn machines.
Able to lift up to 35 lbs; Frequent lifting up to 10 lbs; Occasional carrying, lifting, pushing/pulling, walking, standing, balancing; Frequent reaching overhead and at or above shoulder; Frequent sitting; Frequent climbing
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 4+ years’ experience in Machining production environment.
