Electronic Systems Engineer 5 - Cabin Systems

100% onsite in Everett, WA

Company is seeking a Level 5 Cabin Systems Contractor in Everett, WA

Leads the overall effort to effectively troubleshoot and solve extremely difficult multi-system problems. Applies extensive knowledge and experience to quickly identify root causes and resolve key issues. Leads technical teams at remote locations or facilities.

Demonstrates creativity, innovation and invention in the development and advancement of technology. Initiates the study and assessment of technology developments and leads major or multi-disciplined development projects. Identifies and documents emerging industry standards in line with company goals. Assumes a leadership role in industry technical committees. Identifies areas for potential industry influence. Participates in technology roadmapping exercises and identifies and promotes potential development areas. Publishes papers regarding the development of new technology.

Helps to shape future customer and industry requirements. Proactively leads risk mitigation efforts and issue resolution. Acts as a consultant to conduct independent assessments. Mentors less experienced engineers. Serves as a business unit subject matter expert to prevent and resolve problems.

Applies in-depth knowledge of engineering principles and concepts to shape system designs. Develops architecture and system designs using a high level of ingenuity and innovation to address long-term reliability, cost and quality issues. Develops processes related to analysis and design methodology. Acts as a technical advisor to help solve complex problems. Acts as a consultant to conduct program independent assessments.

Oversees and manages critical or challenging suppliers in the development of the product or system. Resolves complex issues with respect to approval of supplier procurement specifications. Establishes and approves technical criteria for the source selection process. Approves supplier plans and schedules. Acts as a technical advisor during design reviews and audits. Oversees multiple or complex supplier product hardware and software developments. Resolves and directly influences the management of multiple or complex supplier product issues related to supplier qualification testing that impact cost, schedule, performance and quality. Directs others in the review and disposition of contractual data.

Directs The Company test program strategy with the intent of improving quality and reducing costs. Manages and directs sophisticated test programs to resolve critical issues and to investigate future technology applications. Actively shapes future policy. Develops advanced processes and methodologies related to validation, verification and certification.

Team supports all models of commercial aircraft.
What are the Top 3-5 Skills PREFERRED to perform this role/job?:
- Previous BCA experience.
- Authoring of system functional tests, working knowledge of wire diagrams and schematics, prior customer introduction experience.
- Proficiency with company software tools and application, understanding of aircraft certification.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's 14 or more years' experience,
Master's with 12 or more years' experience or
PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
