PDS Tech Commercial is looking for a CNC Machinist/Programmer for our motorsports client in Santa Clarita, CA.

Job Description:

• Program, machine and improve the efficiency and cost of manufacturing prototype components designed by engineering.  

• Design tooling, fixtures and create manufacturing process from scratch to be able to manufacture the complex parts from engineering designers.  

• Provide mechanical, manufacturing guidance to the engineering department  during concept of designs and before drawings are released to ensure components are designed for manufacturability requirements.

Relevant Experience Required:

• Minimum of a High School diploma. Understanding and knowledgeable of geometry and trigonometry principles. •Some machine shop/manufacturing technology and tooling coursework.

• 7 years of experience programming 5 axis CNC, creating tooling, fixtures and manufacturing processes to manufacture components. 

• 5 years’ experience running Mazak multi-axis using Mazatrol and/or CAM software including creating tool path process.

• Experience in modifying engineering models for the appropriate CNC machines; designing CAD models and developing manufacturing process to machine complex parts. 

• Complete understanding of reading blueprints and drawings. 

Must Haves:

• Experience with lathes Mills-Horizontal and Vertical CNC Milling Machines; CNC Turning Center; Drill press; Band and. Horizontal saw and Deburring with hand tools.

• Experience with had CNC multi-axis grinding background would be preferred. Ability to effectively interface with multiple departments and personality types.  

• Strong understanding and experience with close tolerance machining and using precise measuring tools. 

• Comprehensive knowledge of machine setup procedures.
