Location: North Charleston, SC | Pay: $72.79–$98.02/hour | 6-Month Contract | Full-Time | M–F, 8AM–4PM

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join a high-impact team in support of a major aerospace and defense client in North Charleston, SC. If you thrive on solving complex infrastructure challenges and contributing to high-stakes missions, this opportunity is for you.

This position requires a security clearance, and candidates are required to be U.S. Citizens.
 

Make an Impact:

As a Senior Systems Administrator, you’ll play a key role in delivering secure, high-performance computing environments that support aerospace systems at the edge of innovation. From security to disaster recovery, your work will help maintain the operational readiness of critical systems used in government and commercial aerospace programs.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage system integration, configuration, and hardware/software installation

• Lead root cause analysis, complex issue resolution, and performance tuning

• Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades and system changes

• Maintain user access control and implement robust cybersecurity safeguards

• Monitor and manage system capacity, backups, and disaster recovery strategies

• Mentor junior administrators and contribute to documentation and process improvement

• Collaborate cross-functionally to support architecture, delivery, and security requirements

• Work 100% onsite to support high-security operations

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in systems administration

• Proven experience supporting diverse teams across all organizational levels

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant technical experience or a combination of education and experience

• Active certifications in Cloud technologies, Information Security (INFOSEC), or related fields

• Experience with virtualization technologies: AHV, VMware ESXi, Hyper-V

• Familiarity with VDI infrastructure, monitoring, documentation (Confluence), and task tracking (Jira)
