PDS Tech Commercial, Inc is looking for a Structural Mech II in Savannah GA 

Position Overview:

This role operates within a team-oriented work environment, requiring minimal supervision. The primary responsibility is to execute various structural assembly tasks in a production department.

Job Description:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Key Functions:

• Perform assembly and fitting tasks for detail parts and structures, encompassing a range of drilling and riveting operations, ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Utilize the full array of necessary tools for riveting structural assemblies and parts, including portable riveting guns, pneumatic tools, pneumatic drills, countersinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, and rivets. Proficiency in fastener removal without causing damage to the structure is essential.
• Interpret work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine the appropriate sequence of operations, hole sizes, and patterns for rivets.
• Conduct thorough inspections to ensure the defect-free assembly of components before final assessment.
• Maintain and appropriately utilize all logs and records, such as MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, and PCOs.
• Align and assemble parts for riveting, employing jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners.
• Execute repairs as required based on Discrepant Material Tags (DMT), Material Review Requests (MRR), and Production Change Orders (PCO), ensuring compliance with conformity standards.
• Maintain an organized and orderly work area, actively supporting the company's 5S Program, and adhering to all safety regulations.
• Exhibit the ability to work with minimal supervision on assigned duties and tasks.
• Contribute to Lean Activities initiatives.
• Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Additional Requirements:

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Competence in performing close-tolerance work and familiarity with specialized tools and equipment.
• Ability to apply mathematical formulas to solve dimensional problems involving fractions, decimal fractions, and whole numbers.
• Basic computer skills.
• Competence in reading scales and performing basic shop math.
• Capability to read and comprehend basic documents and instructions.
• Possession of essential personal skills, including an aptitude for hands-on craftwork, a professional attitude, attention to detail, ability to work collaboratively, and meet demanding schedules.
• Demonstrated commitment to good housekeeping and safety practices.
• Capability to work with composite resins and materials.
• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work any shift.
• Proficiency in climbing ladders, stands, stairs, and performing tasks in confined spaces and restricted areas.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
• Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant experience in structural assembly.
• Preferred experience includes familiarity with Solumina and Smarteam software tools
