Senior Systems Engineer-Direct & Contract - TX & CA - 1377

Description:
We have an immediate opening for a Mechanical Systems Engineer with our client in TX & CA who is a leading supplier of space products and has a growing presence in the US Aircraft industry specializing in interiors, galleys design, Mechanical Systems, and Freighter conversions in CATIA, also to provide engineering, project development and technical consulting services to the aerospace industry. We are looking for someone who can revise drawings and has knowledge of Catia, sheet metals, mechanical systems, and preferably some experience with structural and composite materials.


Job Description:
Senior Systems engineer

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Catia expert with experience in creating 2d installation and assembly drawings
Electrical/ Hydraulic/ECS design experience
Become the Catia focal for the systems group
Ability and willingness to train others in Catia
Knowledge of PDM system
Part 25 aircraft modification experience
Ability to check engineering drawings for Fit, Form and Function.
Strong Computer Aided Drafting/Design skills using CATIA V5.
Three-dimensional (3D) design/drafting skills are preferred.
Knowledge of industry design and documentation standards.
Experience with mechanical assemblies and manufacturing technique design.
Ability to work independently and cross-functionally as part of an established and growing team.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Strong time-management and organizational skills.
Experience adhering to budget and project schedules.
Ability to work outside of core business hours as required.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to meet high expectations for meeting strict schedule, budget and technical solutions.
Ability to adapt to tailored processes designed for prototype engineering (vs. production engineering)
Broad and diverse knowledge of multiple mechanical disciplines: lower and upper attached structure, monuments, ceilings, side walls, flooring, placards, OEM modifications, etc.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering, minimum of 10 years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Aviation background and aircraft experience preferred.
