Position OverviewWe are currently seeking a highly experienced Avionics Technician to support operations at a P-8 site. This role is ideal for a former U.S. Navy technician with deep expertise in 4790 maintenance, P-8 aircraft systems, and Quality Assurance (QA) practices. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring aircraft readiness, compliance with quality standards, and continuous process improvement.Key Responsibilities*Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on P-8 aircraft in accordance with 4790 procedures.
*Review and validate product non-conformances, engineering requirements, and quality documentation.
*Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve quality issues.
*Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS), contract requirements, and applicable regulations.
*Mentor and train team members on quality standards and maintenance best practices.
*Approve quality planning changes and disposition of nonconforming hardware or processes.
*Support configuration management and software validation efforts.
*Interpret and apply industry standards and audit findings to improve operational performance.
Required Qualifications*Minimum 3 years of direct P-8 aircraft experience (required)
*10+ years of U.S. Navy avionics maintenance experience
*Demonstrated experience in Quality Assurance (QA) roles or responsibilities
*Active Secret Clearance
*Strong working knowledge of 4790 documentation and maintenance protocols
*Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications*Experience with configuration management and software quality assurance
*Familiarity with DoD and government aviation quality standards
*Prior experience in a Material Review Board (MRB) or similar quality oversight role
