Systems Engineering Specialist


PDS is looking for an Systems Engineering Specialist in Wichita, KS

In your role, you will:

The candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • Understand customer technical needs in the emerging missionized aircraft market
  • Provide solution architecture overviews for targeted BSA markets
  • Stay up to date with new products and technologies in the aircraft sub-systems industry
  • Present technical solutions to our business development team
  • Lead collaborative brainstorming sessions with multi-disciplinary team and customers
  • Provide engineering expertise in the integration of innovative solutions onto current Bombardier Platforms
  • Create aircraft and system level functional requirements
  • Define technology demonstrations to meet specific use cases
  • Create successful proof-of-concept engineering strategies
  • Develop Whitepapers content related to strategic BSA market campaigns
  • Provide SME Support in the preparation of written customer response to RFI/RFP
  • Provide technical support to program managers with customer facing engagements
  • Engage with systems suppliers to understand how their solutions or products can benefits BSA’s customers
  • Participate with academic program or research institutes to create the next generation aircraft systems

As our ideal candidate,
  • MUST hold a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • You have a minimum of 10 years of experience in product development of aircraft sub-systems
  • You have experience in the design, integration and implementation of control systems, preferably in the areas of flight controls, auto-pilot, fly-by-wire controls, or automation
  • You have strong technical knowledge of aircraft, sub-systems and special mission equipment
  • You have an innovative approach to solving engineering challenges
  • You have familiarity with Bombardier Business Jet Platforms
  • You maintain a large network aircraft sub-system suppliers
  • You have working knowledge of Systems Engineering (ARP 4754A, ARP4761)
  • You have good understanding the aircraft civil and military certification process
  • You are a team player and have excellent communication skills
  • You have demonstrated success in a highly collaborative environment within business and strategy development
  • You are eligible to view and handle ITAR, EAR and CGD material (as required)
  • You may be required to travel
