Industrial Engineer

Description:
Inconen is looking for an Industrial Engineer for our client, a well-known Aerospace Company, in Canoga Park, CA.

**Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen without Dual Citizenship**
**Our client mandates that all employees and contractors must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19**

Duties:
-60% - Optimize Manufacturing & Assembly Operations
Work with factory managers to evaluate manufacturing areas and implement continuous improvement projects and methods aimed at reducing waste, improving flow, improving performance, improving the “visual factory”, and reducing non-conformances. Use lean methods to reduce floor space needed to support efficient hardware fabrication. Perform studies to find ways to eliminate wastefulness in production processes and present findings to area managers. Devise efficient systems and metrics that integrate workers, machines, materials, information, and energy to improve product cost, schedule and or quality.
-20% - Improve Scheduling & Performance Accuracy
View systems as a whole. Asses manufacturing sequences, lead-times, shop floor capacity planning, and area performance to optimize workflow schedules.
Identify system level production constraints and design solutions to resolve constraint.
Support area managers with cost performance analysis, non-conformance analysis, and capacity studies.
20% - Participate and facilitate team projects to resolve operations issues and implement cost reduction initiatives.

Skills:
Required:
-Application of Lean tools & methods to provide business insights
-Work measurement studies (manufacturing standard work) and basic statistical techniques
-Understanding of MRP systems, shop order routings, & resource attributes (including performance, efficiency, & yield factors)
-Performance measurement systems
-Material handling and production planning

Desired:
-Interpret and evaluate data and processes
-Communicate technical information to a wide audience both verbally and in writing
-Use various computer systems to produce reports and spreadsheets
-Comfortable working under limited instruction or guidance to achieve goals and objectives
-Establish working priorities, plan projects, and organize resources

Education:
-Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and (5) years of experience in a directly related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
