PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking Operations - Welder 2_Non-Cleared

SUMMARY:

• Under general supervision, works from instructions, drawings, schematics, illustrations and process documentation to assemble a wide variety of electrical subassemblies and systems.
• Fabricates, assembles, disassembles, sets up, inspects and reworks electronic and electrical hardware and equipment.
• Performs routine, complex, and repetitive assembly operations and processes to produce quality and accurate products in a timely manner.
• Practices and complies with environmental, health, and safety directions and procedures.
• Hold J-STD-001 and/or IPC620 certificate (preferred, but not required)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIE:

• Other duties may be assigned.
• Determines methods and sequence of assembly operations where complete information is not readily available or follows assembly shop and production operations sheets, wire lists, samples, blue prints, schematics and verbal instructions to perform a wide variety of assembly operations.
• Utilizes small hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and hammers.
• Identifies and selects components to be integrated into sub-assembly and assembly units.
• Makes own set-ups, alignments and adjustments maintaining tolerance in accordance with instructions.
• Disassembles, modifies, reworks, refurbishes, reassembles, and tests units as required.
• May provide work leadership to lower level assemblers through assignment or work review of progress and monitoring of results.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience with hand tools (i.e. Working with cars, building furniture, assembling products, really anything that they had to use a screwdriver/hammer/wrench for)
• Experience can be any type of mechanics and/or those who have worked in warehouse/manufacturing and wanted to move toward assembly (still must have experience with hand tools) Will have one on one training for job Torque Wrench experience not necessary, will train along any other specialized tool
• Person must be able to follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time
• All work will be inspected by another person (Inspection points in place)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Candidate must be highly skilled with basic hand tools (mil spec crimpers, toque drivers and other calibrated hand tools included)
• Experience with assembly of surface mount and thru-hole components on circuit boards, per JSTD 001/IPC 610 preferred
• Experience with chassis wire routing, lacing/tying/harnessing per WHMA-620 preferred.
• Must have experience with mechanical assembly and integration of sensitive electronic assemblies within a mechanical enclosure
• Familiar with ESD precautions in electronics manufacturing

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
•  Minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
