Structural Mechanic II

Job Title: Structural Mechanic II
Job Type: Full-Time; Consultant
Location: Savannah, GA
Schedule: Weekend Day Shift
Pay Rate: $25.66 per hour

Position Purpose:
Join our team-oriented work environment where you’ll supervise key structural assembly operations with minimal supervision. Your skills will ensure the quality and precision of aircraft components, contributing to a high-standard production environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in structural assembly. Experience with Solumina and Smarteam is preferred.

• Skills: Proficiency in blueprint reading, close tolerance work, and use of special tools. Basic computer skills and the ability to perform shop math are essential.

Core Responsibilities:

• Precision Assembly: Perform fitting, drilling, and riveting of detailed parts and structures, ensuring compliance with exacting specifications.

• Tool Mastery: Utilize various tools, from portable riveting guns to pneumatic drills, ensuring accurate and damage-free assembly.

• Quality Assurance: Rigorously check work to guarantee defect-free assemblies before final inspection.

• Documentation: Maintain thorough logs and records, including MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, and PCOs.

• Problem Solving: Execute repairs per DMT, MRR, and PCO, performing necessary rework to meet conformity standards.

• Safety & Organization: Uphold safety regulations and contribute to a clean, organized workspace through the 5S Program.

Additional Requirements:

• Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces, including climbing ladders and stairs.

• Technical Acumen: Ability to use mathematical formulas, solve dimensional problems, and read/interact with blueprints.

• Work Ethic: Demonstrates attention to detail, a professional attitude, and the ability to meet demanding schedules.

• Flexibility: Must be able to work any shift.
