Location: Huntsville, AL
Pay Range: DOE
Job Type: 6 Month Contract
Schedule: 9/80

**Candidates must have checking experience! Looking for significant experience with ASME/ANSI Y14.5, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), 3D CAD, and Creo. Will be checking and validating work already completed, and assisting team with proper creation of Product Definition, as well as validating PD for release standards**
**Candidates must be local to Canoga Park or Huntsville and able to work onsite. Specify candidate’s location on resumes. Option to work full time remote will be considered based upon candidates’ qualifications. Candidates may support multiple sites from the location they can work onsite at**
**Will most likely go longer than 6 months. Possible conversion to direct employee**

Duties:
-Under limited general direction and following established procedures in accordance with contractual requirements and Aerojet Rocketdyne policy and procedures, this position performs engineering design assignments for preparation of engineering design documents and maintaining the design disclosure.

Typical responsibilities include:
-Prepare product definition (CAD models and drawings).
-Perform Verification of Product Definition (Checking) includes models, drawings and PLM attributes and relationships.
-40% - Create, check and maintain design product definition (Models & Drawings) for engineering designs. This includes, but is not limited to, preparation of design layouts and/or preliminary conceptual design layouts, as well as outsourced design project leadership.
-40% - Performs check of Product Definition) engineering drawings and models against industry and Aerojet Rocketdyne standards.
-20% - Provide technical guidance to less experienced aerospace engineers and CAD designs and to design support personnel.

Skills:
-10 years of experience with CAD systems (Creo 5.0 preferred) along with experience using CAD database management and PLM tools (Windchill preferred).
-Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical harnessing and packaging of Aerospace hardware required.
-Expert knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (ASME Y14.5).
-ASME Certification in GD&T is a plus.
-Ability to read and interpret product definition and related specifications.
-Electronic markup tools and the ability to work paperless is required. (Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam)

Education:
-Requires a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline and at least 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education.

Certifications & Licenses:
-ASME Certification in GD&T is a plus.
