Systems Engineer 2

Description:
SSE is looking for Systems Engineer 2 to fill a role in St. Louis, MO.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Evaluates customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Performs analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. Supports the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Required Qualifications:
• Must have the ability to be granted special program access, which requires US Citizenship.
• Must be willing to meet work assignment/travel requirements.

Desired Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
• Good understanding of Air Vehicle and Mission Systems
• A basic understanding of Aircraft Reliability and Maintainability concepts and tools

Typical Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering
• Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent.
• ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Typical Experience:
• Using a variety of media, clearly conveys information and ideas to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
• Takes steps to develop and maintain the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform.
• Work with the project teams to ensure process rigor on Air Vehicle projects as well as Mission
Systems projects.

• “This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required.” US Citizen required.

Travel Comments:
• Occasional travel (10%) may be required in support of the program and customer.
