Certification Engineer - TS I
|PDS is seeking an Certification Engineer - TS I - TC Programs for an open position in Savannah, GA.|
Assists with the planning, coordination, performance of design, analysis and liaison engineering supporting the development and production of Aircraft products and services
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions: 1. Contributes to planning, developing and coordinating of important engineering projects 2. Provides specialized technical assistance to team members 3. Uses advanced techniques and modified extension of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems 4. Determines and develops own approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives 5. Works under limited supervision; work should only be required. to be reviewed for accuracy and consistency with meeting overall objectives 6. Acts as liaison with representatives outside of the assigned group/area
Additional Functions: 1. Actively works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements 2. Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
1. Prepares, develops, and reviews complex certification plans describing the project scope, certification deliverables, means of compliance, and test/conformity requirements. 2. Coordinates with ODA Unit Members to resolve issues with certification deliverables and 8100-9 finding. 3. Reviews TIA pre-requisites, drafts TIA, and creates problem reports memo. 4. Independently prepares Summary Compliance Reports for complex projects. 5. Responsible for tracking project task assignments, status, and estimated complete dates as assigned. 6. Recommends improvements to existing processes.
Unique Job Requirements:
1. Knowledge of phases of TC, post-TC and STC certification projects, and the associated FAA Orders and Policy 2. Knowledge of Part 25 regulations, how those regulations drive design and system redundancy requirements, and the supporting regulatory guidance material 3. Understanding of software assurance and complex hardware requirements and applicability to our aircraft systems 4. Experience determining appropriate means of compliance 5. Understanding of certification testing process and deliverables 6. Understanding of airworthiness limitations and associated regulations and operating requirements.
1. Advanced degree in engineering related field preferred.
2. The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
